VISA

Temporary visits to Senegal (04 to 30 days) are governed by the visa regulation in force. Foreigners willing to enter the Senegalese territory must have a valid passport, a return guarantee, a round-ticket or a travel document for a foreign destination, international certificates required by the health regulation.

Countries whose nationals do not need an entry visa to Senegal

  • Neighbouring countries: Gambia, Guinea Bissau, Guinea Conakry, Mali, Mauritania ;
  • Nationals of ECOWAS countries: Benin, Burkina Faso, Cape Verde, Cote d’Ivoire, Ghana, Liberia, Niger, Nigeria, Sierra Leone, Togo ;
  • Nationals of European Union:, Austria, Belgium, Germany, Finland, France, Greece, Ireland, Italy, Luxembourg, Netherlands, Portugal, Spain, Sweden, United Kingdom

Yellow fever
Country requirement: A yellow fever vaccination certificate is required from travellers coming from countries with risk of yellow fever transmission.
Recommendation: Yellow fever vaccine recommendation: yes

Malaria
Risk: Malaria risk—predominantly due to P. falciparum—exists throughout the year in the whole country. There is less risk from January through June in the central western regions. Resistance to chloroquine and sulfadoxine– pyrimethamine reported.
