Objectives
The notions of “Electronic Single Window for trade” and “Paperless trade formalities” are interpreted differently depending on the context of their implementation. Some noteworthy experiences are more and more emerging worldwide with tangible results.
The 2nd edition of the International Single Window Conference is aimed at giving the keys to formalise Single Window concepts and providing concrete tools for countries willing to embark on the implementation of Single Windows. The Dakar confab also offers a framework of exchanges and sharing of experiences with development partners.
Expected results
For Africa
- Adherence of new members to the African Alliance for E-Commerce (AAEC);
- Promotion of paperless trade projects;
- Mobilization of donors to foster trade facilitation projects in Africa.

For the other regions
- Step up the interest of governments and private sector on the Single Window concept towards facilitating the implementation thereof at national level;
- Promote regional and inter-regional cooperation worldwide;
- Initiate international projects of trade-related documents and data exchanges.
