The Conference is meant to be a hub of exchanges on the Single Window concept. It seeks to gather delegates from different regions of the world, with contributions from countries boasting a solid experience in the matter, organisms propping Single Window implementation and international experts.

Objectives

DakarThe notions of “Electronic Single Window for trade” and “Paperless trade formalities” are interpreted differently depending on the context of their implementation. Some noteworthy experiences are more and more emerging worldwide with tangible results.
The 2nd edition of the International Single Window Conference is aimed at giving the keys to formalise Single Window concepts and providing concrete tools for countries willing to embark on the implementation of Single Windows. The Dakar confab also offers a framework of exchanges and sharing of experiences with development partners.

Expected results

For Africa

  • Adherence of new members to the African Alliance for E-Commerce (AAEC);
  • Promotion of paperless trade projects;
  • Mobilization of donors to foster trade facilitation projects in Africa.

For the other regions

  • Step up the interest of governments and private sector on the Single Window concept towards facilitating the implementation thereof at national level;
  • Promote regional and inter-regional cooperation worldwide;
  • Initiate international projects of trade-related documents and data exchanges.

Single Window operators, customs and port administrations, Ministries of Transport, Ministries of Trade, Chambers of Commerce, Private sector, International organizations, Trade facilitation experts, ASEAL, UN/CEFACT members, donors…

Exhibition

As a platform of exhibition of computer solutions based on emerging technologies, the exhibit will provide a framework conducive for exchanges and sharing of experience between participants and suppliers.
